Please note rehearsals are based in Dance House, Dance Ireland, Foley Street, Dublin. We cannot provide accomodation or visas for this work.

Dates: 1st to 13th December (excluding 7th)
*Studio Presentation: 13th December (TBC)
(Possibility of more dates around this time but these are funding dependant)

Character Description: Ernie is a man who lives on his own in his mother’s old house, and before caring for these four individuals also cared for his mother. He can be quiet and somewhat introverted but when tasked with running the weekly bingo is a true showman and not afraid to perform to make others happy. His warmth emanates from him but he’s feelings of loneliness, grief and loss come to the forefront throughout this work, he wears his heart on his sleeve and shows us his vulnerability throughout the piece

Please prepare/tape: one contemporary monologue and two songs.

One lyrical ballad showing range from the golden age of musical theatre (1940-1960). Please no patter songs.

One soul/pop song which shows character and range. In the realms of ‘Try A Little Tenderness’ but other suggested artists include Sam Cooke, Leon Bridges and Alabama Shakes so something along those lines. Please no rock songs although it can be something more modern.

Please also submit a CV and list any NA’s for this time.

The fee is €800 per week of rehearsals and this unfortunately cannot be altered as it is a company wage so all performers are on the same fee.

Deadline for submissions: Monday 1st September to artisticdirector@roisinwhelandance.com
